Google's New Desktop SERP Layout, one more Experiment?

As observed, Google is one again experimenting on SERP Layout. This Card-based SERP (Search Engine Result Page) for desktop is same as the one normally seeing on the Mobile Search.

Interesting Points to Note:

Number of results on the new Card-based SERP is as same on the previous design desktop layout.
Snippet Width is longer with 20 Extra Characters.
As new Layout is not yet served worldwide each time the user Search any query on Google.
